Grandson of Pompey the Great; pardoned by Augustus for a conspiracy and afterward raised to the consulship of AD 5 — Seneca's example (told at length in De Clementia) of a man advanced through clemency owed to his lineage. Distinct from the Marian L. Cornelius Cinna.
